Country music artist John Rich has been appointed Special Envoy for American Landowners, a new role announced alongside the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The appointment, made by President Donald Trump, is intended to strengthen communication between federal officials and people who own and work agricultural land across the country.
The announcement says Rich will meet with farmers, ranchers, and private landowners to hear their concerns and share feedback with USDA leadership. His work is expected to focus on property rights, land use, and issues affecting rural communities, including the impact of large renewable energy projects on farmland.
Rich has spoken publicly for years about protecting private property and supporting rural America. His new position reflects those priorities and places him in a role that connects government officials with landowners facing local challenges.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins welcomed the appointment and said the goal is to ensure the voices of farmers and ranchers are heard. Rich also said he looks forward to representing landowners and helping address issues that affect families, businesses, and communities that depend on agricultural land.
