Listen to Brooke Eden’s Moving New Single, “Act Like You Don’t”

Brooke Eden has released a new single, “Act Like You Don’t,” from her current EP, Welcome to the Weekend, and it’s got the makings of a hit for the newcomer.

The song, written by Brooke, Cary Barlowe and Jesse Frasure, finds Brooke talking to an ex, pleading for space so that she can heal from the heartbreak. The despair in the 28-year-old’s powerhouse vocals feels like a punch to the gut.

“When you want to have a late night drive by / Drunk dial my phone around midnight / Say you miss me waking up by your side / Act like you don’t, like you don’t / Let’s play a little game and pretend / Like you don’t know where I go on the weekends / When you want to show up with your friends / Act like you don’t, like you don’t,” Brooke croons in the chorus.

“[Writing the song] helped me work through a breakup and land on my feet on the other side,” Brooke said in a release.

And listening to the song can help the rest of us. If you’ve ever been through a breakup and still long for your ex—and let’s face it, most of us have—“Act Like You Don’t” is a healing elixir that can help you find the strength to move on from a relationship that was never right.

“Act Like You Don’t” can be found on Brooke’s debut EP, Welcome to the Weekend, available on iTunes.
